Botox & Dysport offer facial rejuvenation for those looking to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles in North Vancouver, BC. While wrinkles and fine lines are an inescapable part of aging, they are not always caused by age and possibly by repetitive facial motions, and so even young adults can develop them. However, you can prevent the signs of aging and rejuvenate your appearance with neuromodulators (such as Botox®), which reduce these repetitive muscle contractions and achieve natural-looking results.
At Art of Lines, Dr. Naz believes lines and wrinkles can be artfully modified to help you refresh your appearance. You deserve a provider who listens to your concerns and understands beauty does not have a one-size-fits-all solution. Each patient’s face has specific features, which, along with her personality, character, and aesthetic goals will define the individual plan developed for her.
With quality care and individualized attention, Dr. Naz Baradaran works to help her patients achieve their aesthetic goals through cosmetic medicine. We have made it easy for you to see if Botox® is suitable for you to help with the signs of aging.

Botox® is a brand name for a neuromodulator called Onabotulinumtoxin A. This neuromodulator is a purified form of the neurotoxin produced from the culture of the bacteria called Clostridium botulinum. When used for cosmetic procedures, neuromodulators, including Botox®, are injected into muscles to temporarily block signals to specific muscles that cause the skin to move and wrinkle.
Botox® (Onabotulinumtoxin A) was the first injectable botulinum toxin type A. Other brands, such as Dysport® (Abobotulinumtoxin A), and NuceiveTM (Prabotulinumtoxin A) contain the same active ingredient. The main distinction lies in their different formulations.
Botox® helps smooth and refresh the skin to reduce the appearance of fine lines by preventing repetitive muscular movements yet keeping your natural appearance and overall look, resulting in a refreshed and younger version of yourself.
Botox has both preventative and treatment properties. It is much easier to prevent wrinkles with smaller amounts of Botox than treating the deep lines. Without prohibiting movements in other areas of the face, Botox® can smooth and enhance the:
Dr. Naz appreciates that close attention to details and very subtle choices and meticulous injection can create drastic enhancements to each patient’s appearance and to have a younger version of oneself. Combining extreme precision with an artistic eye for beauty, Dr. Naz targets only the muscles that cause the skin to wrinkle, ensuring patients are not left with an overdone or expressionless appearance.
In some cases, and when needed in delicate areas, Dr. Naz uses an ultrasound device to guide the injection treatment in delicate areas, to avoid vital blood vessels in the face and ensure accurate results.
Combining her medical knowledge, injection skills and artistic taste for beauty Dr. Naz’s priority is to understand her patients’ needs and goals and help them achieve the most satisfactory results.
The negative effects of aging can degrade our self-esteem or affect our overall feelings of wellness. Botox®can help you prevent and diminish the physical signs of aging to look rejuvenated and refreshed with a more youthful-looking appearance that can boost your confidence.
Botox can benefit all ages above 20 for a refreshed and younger look. The preventative impact is best seen by patients in their late 20s or early 30s, or before lines set in. This is when Botox® can help you appear more rested and your skin to appear more rejuvenated, preserving your natural beauty for longer and without the need for excessive injection as you get older. You’ll still look like you, only younger and more refreshed.
Dr. Naz has a holistic and personalized view of facial beauty. Rather than focusing on smaller individual issues or flaws, she wants patients to see how their features all work together to form their own unique beauty. Her patients always love the overall results of their treatment.
Any individual who aims to slow down the aging process can be considered a good candidate for these treatments. There is no certain age at which one becomes a good candidate! Younger people (millennials and generation Z) start Botox early to prevent the wrinkles from appearing, middle-aged people (generation X) use Botox to refresh the skin and prevent further deepening, and the older population (Baby Boomers) use it to treat and smooth lines. Botulinum toxin is the only treatment for dynamic wrinkles currently approved by the FDA.
During your consultation with Dr. Naz, she will discuss both your short-term and long-term aesthetic goals to recommend the placement and amount of Botox® required. In some cases and when not to the benefit of the patient either medically or aesthetically, she may advise against using Botox or possibly deferring it to a later time. With a thorough assessment of patients’ medical history and conditions, Dr. Naz ensures using the product will not cause any medical side effects.
With a unique eye for style and elegance and proven and recognized injection skills, Dr. Naz understands that there is no specific formula to create beauty for all. Each person exudes beauty in their own way, and for Dr. Naz it’s about retaining and enhancing your features and bringing harmony to your overall beautiful, attractive, and youthful appearance. With her distinct medical expertise and her artistic touch, Dr. Naz establishes each Botox® treatment plan to preserve and reveal beautiful, natural-looking results for every patient.
As both a cosmetic and medical physician, Dr. Naz ensures each patient gets the individualized care and attention they deserve. Her medical knowledge helps safeguard against complications and preventable side effects.

Above all, Dr. Naz will be honest about how you can reach your goals and thoroughly explain all treatment options to address your individual concerns.
Each Botox procedure at Art of Lines is customized to suit the individual needs of each patient, but here are some general steps you can expect.
Help reduce the risk of bruising by avoiding any blood thinners such as Aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Vitamin E, and alcohol for 1-2 days before treatment.
We recommend you come to your appointment with a clean face and no makeup on. If that is not possible, Dr. Naz will clean the injection site and remove your makeup.
When you arrive, our team will greet you for check-in and make sure all necessary documentation, including a consent form, is filled. Then one of our staff will take dynamic and static photographs of treatment areas before injection. These pictures are only used for confidential assessment purposes and internal consultations with Dr. Naz. Then Dr. Naz will take you into the treatment room, ensure you are comfortable, review the consultation forms and the treatment plan. She will answer any last questions you may have and evaluate the treatment areas. You will not receive anesthesia for your Botox® procedure.
Typically, Botox® procedures are quick and relatively painless. Most patients report only minimal discomfort, like a slight pinch. The procedure lasts approximately 15-30 minutes, depending on the number of areas to be treated. For some people who have a needle phobia or are more sensitive, Dr. Naz will use either a facial vibrator device or ice to keep the nerve cells busy with vibration or cold temperature rather than pain. This is a great and effective method to alleviate pain. The majority of Dr. Naz’s patients find the neuromodulator injection to be quite pain-free or report a minimal pinch-like sensation. Needless to say, this injection technique plays an important role in this experience. Well known for having a “light touch,” Dr. Naz has received much positive feedback for her injection skills.
Botox® treatments require minimal downtime. Following the Botox® procedure, most patients will resume normal activities. It is recommended to continue life as usual.
As with any non-surgical procedure, it is essential to thoroughly follow Dr. Naz’s instructions to ensure optimal results from your Botox® treatment.
Certain aftercare practices (outlined below) are believed to reduce the potential spread of the toxin; however, they are not supported by randomized controlled trials.

With optimal placement, your natural-looking Botox® results will last from 3-6 months. However, each patient will experience results based on their individual response and product placement.

Botox® cost is determined by your individual needs, the areas to be treated, and the number of units necessary to achieve your desired results. Following your consultation with Dr. Naz, you will receive a breakdown of your Botox® cost.
The number of Botox® units required per treatment depends on individual needs, the area to be treated, and your desired results.
Botox® results last for approximately 3-5 months. However, each patient will experience unique results.
These complications are rare and primarily caused by temporary denervation of adjacent muscles outside of the intended treatment area. They can be technique-dependent; incidence declines as injector skill improves. Temporary blepharoptosis (upper eyelid droop) is uncommon (1% to 5%) but is distressing for patients. This is caused by the deep migration of toxins to the muscle responsible for raising the upper eyelid. This side effect of toxin can be treated using an ophthalmic solution. Eyebrow ptosis (droop) and undesired eyebrow shape are usually related to unintended toxin effects in the forehead muscle. Some of these complications can be corrected in a follow-up session; however, complications caused by the involvement of adjacent muscles are temporary and will spontaneously resolve as botulinum toxin effects diminish. Consistent technique and careful attention to injection volumes at the time of treatment and the use of ultrasound devices in the complicated areas can reduce the incidence of asymmetries. Other rare complications associated with toxin injections include the formation of antibodies (less than 1%), which can render treatments ineffective. Medications that inhibit neuromuscular signaling, such as aminoglycosides, quinidine, anticholinergics, and muscle relaxants, may potentiate toxin effects. Distant spread has not been reported with cosmetic use of botulinum toxin for frown lines or other facial indications.
A Botox® lip flip is a non-surgical lip enhancement that injects Botox® above the upper lip and the corners of the mouth. It does not add volume to the lips but relaxes the lip muscles allowing them to curl outward, appearing plumper with a more defined shape.
Most patients notice visible improvement within 7 days following treatment. Over the 2-4 weeks, the results will continue to improve, looking smoother and more refreshed.
Many people considering Botox treatment often wonder if they are “too young” or “too old” to start an anti-aging regimen. In truth, there is no right or wrong age to get Botox injections. Patients must be over 18, and we often see people in their early 20s start using Botox as a preventative, especially if they know they are genetically susceptible to premature aging.
The week before your Vancouver Botox treatment, Dr. Naz suggests you should stop drinking alcohol or taking blood-thinning medications like aspirin or ibuprofen. These precautions will help minimize bruising after your procedure. If you are currently taking a prescription blood thinner like warfarin, be sure to mention this to Dr. Naz so she can take the necessary precautions when performing your Botox injections.
Brotox is a clever nickname for men’s Botox treatments. With the rise of social media and increased pressure to meet society’s expectations, men are increasingly seeking options for preserving their youthful appearance. A quick, painless solution like Botox is an excellent starting point. Patients of any gender identity can benefit from minimizing dynamic facial lines such as crow’s feet, brow furrows, and 11 lines. Botox effectively smooths these signs of aging with minimal downtime or disruption to your schedule.
